Stuart Florida Overview

Martin County Has It All.

Stuart Florida – A community that has it all.An Overview of Stuart Florida.

The city of Stuart offers a myriad of things to do and experience. Stuart and the greater Martin County area offers something for everyone: beach-side and coastal towns where outdoor activities and nature take center stage; historic towns with tree-lined streets, quaint sidewalk cafes, restaurants, art galleries, charming antique stores as well as brand name stores;  The Lyric Theater, located in historic downtown Stuart, showcases big name talent in plays and musicals. In a smaller setting, The Barn Theater produces four plays annually with many local talents.

Located along the St. Lucie River, the recently restored downtown area offers numerous eating establishments, many of which provide live entertainment. Stroll along Osceola Street and you will find everything from fine art to great gifts. Many festivals, art shows and activities are held in downtown Stuart throughout the year.

A charming Southern city with a delightfully progressive bent, Palm City, Florida  marks its 100th anniversary in 2012 and  is one of the most desired locations in the nation to live.   It takes only a cursory look at Palm City’s many attractions and conveniences to understand why this is the place for you.

Today, Palm City is the 19th largest city in Florida by population with more than 100,000 residents.  Palm City is the ninth largest city by size, covering 97 square miles. It encompasses 900 miles of paved roads, and is a haven for high-tech companies. Palm City remains a city focused on the future. Yet in many ways, Palm City still retain the charming characteristics of that original small town situated on a scenic bay of the Indian River Lagoon.

Adjacent to Stuart, Florida lies Hutchinson Island.  Hutchinson Island offers the Elliott Museum, currently expanding to create a new world-class facility that blends art, history, invention and innovation. The Studio at the Elliott offers instruction in the visual arts for all ages.

The nearby House of Refuge at Gilbert’s Bar is the oldest structure on the Treasure Coast. Built in 1876, the house was one of many such houses built along the Florida coast, originally designed to provide shelter to shipwreck survivors.

The Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center is a 57-acre marine life nature center dedicated to education and preservation of healthy coastal ecosystems. The Center, on Hutchinson Island, is comprised of the Florida Oceanographic Society’s headquarters, library, nature trails, Children’s Activity Pavilion, Rays on the Reef Pavilion and a visitor’s center.

Across the river from Stuart, the town of Palm City boasts the whole package of offerings including golf, boating, fishing, polo and cultural and equestrian centers.

Nowhere else on the East Coast can be found all of the extraordinary and exceptional combinations offered by its amenities and the beauty and culture of the surrounding Stuart and Palm City, Florida area.

Don’t miss the opportunity to find the home of your dreams in the city of Stuart, Florida.
